Something different for the weekend! For the 1st time ever I ran a Sewing Bee for a group of 11 year olds – a birthday party with a difference. I often run different events around sewing for adults, but this time I was approached by a mum wanting me to do a party for a group of children.
They worked together in 2 teams to create a garment that one of them could model, out of a large man’s t-shirt. Everyone had a go at using the sewing machine, they all stitched and cut, added ribbons and lace, made a knotted fringe.

One was an off the shoulder number, with a tie shoulder strap, an attached belt and knotted fringe. The other was a more normal t-shirt shape with a v-neck, lace collar and a large heart made out of a black and white animal print fabric.
