Hi! This is an exciting time for me! I'm opening an online membership group to show you how to refashion & upcyle clothing & I'm building a membership group to get you reusing fabrics/mending/altering & taking care of your clothes. Which will also save you money! I'm Maryanne, mother of one and grandma of one. Before moving to Cornwall, I lived on a narrowboat cruising the canals of England. When we moved onto the boat, I needed to be able to earn a living and a chance phone call showed me the way forward.
It was 2012, the country was in a recession, this lady phoned and asked what I was going to do, I hadn’t a clue we chatted and mulled over several ideas, I made a throwaway remark that I’d always sewn. She jumped on the idea, I thought everyone could sew, she explained that not everyone had a mum like mine who started teaching me when I was 5 years old!
Sewing was making a comeback, I started running classes teaching people what I knew. I also made lots clothing and gift items that I sold at the floating markets that are held on the canals in England.
After 7 years, we decided that it was time to move back to dry land and I know live in a small cottage in Cornwall near Liskeard. I love teaching sewing and meeting new people. So, I continue to teach, mend, upcycle refashion clothing and soft furnishings, selling at craft markets, now venturing online! Upcycling and refashioning clothing near Liskeard, Cornwall.
