Welcome to Sewing Seams Easy where I change the drab into fab with an arsenal of needles and thread! Sewing classes for nervous beginners, learn to love your sewing machine.
I'm Maryanne from Sewing Seams Easy. Successful sewing starts here. I created it because I want to help you to be more creative with fabric. Whether it's making clothes or soft furnishings, or upcycling, unloved items around the house. My sewing classes are filled with people from Liskeard, Pensilva, Callington, Dobwalls, Upton Cross, Darite & further afield! It's a good place to meet people with similar interests as you! So if you are new to the area or just want to get out a bit more these classes could be just what you are looking for!
Why do I teach? I simply love teaching people to sew. I'm a bargain hunter, design lover, and incurable DIY mother of one and grandmother of one. I learned to sew at a very young age, and it is a skill that I truly love to share with as many as possible. I‘ve decided to teach 1-1 classes as some people are nervous of feeling silly in front of other students. Also people work shifts & can’t come at the same day/time each week. So you get individual attention on a day & time to suit you! 3x2hr sessions for £80, now that is a bargain! In the past I charged £40 for 1hour! Why am I doing this? I’m passionate about making sewing available to all, it’s a life skill as important as learning to cook. At one time sewing was taught in schools but they don’t teach it now!
I love to upcycle and refashion clothing and fabric. Cheap fashion takes a huge toll on our planet. 21 billion tonnes of textiles are dumped every year. I can show you how to reuse fabrics, save them from landfills, making beautiful individual garments and soft furnishings. If you would rather buy something I have made from upcycled fabrics please go to my shop at Your store link is: https://payhip.com/SewingSeamsEasy
I only run small classes, that way you get plenty of one-on-one help, unlike the college courses where there can be 20-30 people.
I have been sewing since I was about 5 years old, my mum taught me. She used to make all her own clothes and soft furnishings. Everything from cocktail dresses, tailored jackets, coats, summer and winter wardrobes. All the curtains and cushions, in those days she had summer and winter curtains!
I have been running my sewing business for 10 years, teaching hundreds of beginners to intermediate sewers, how to sew, upcycle and refashion clothing and soft furnishings.
